DO YOU KNOW?
Every 6 seconds 1 child dies of malnutrition
Childhood deaths in 2010 was estimated at 7.6 million, half due to
malnutrition
1 out of every 15 children will die before they reach the age of
five
Poverty causes many aspects of children's poor health
Children lose 443million school days due to these diseases
Lack of medical resources increases death rates
(Derived from UNICEF 2008 Summary table 1 p. 117 and also from
UNICME p. 6 Table 1).
The believer’s shade on the Day of
Resurrection will be his charity” (Tirmidhi Hadith 604)
NUTRITION IS ROOT TO POVERTY ERADICATION
Humanitarian aid organisations usually supply food consisting
mainly of grain, such as rice, but may lack other essential nutrients necessary
for healthy development. Malnourished children are missing KEY NUTRIENTS in
their diets which hinder brain, bone, immune system development, creating
health disorder and shorten life expectancy. Babies who are malnourished
in the womb, during pregnancy, have a higher risk of dying in infancy and are
more likely to face lifelong cognitive and physical deficits and chronic health
problems. For children under the age of two, under-nutrition can weaken a
child's immune system and make him or her more susceptible to dying from common
illnesses such as pneumonia, diarrhea and malaria. Malnutrition causes
restricted brain development because vital neurons and synapses do not form
correctly, which can severely affect a child's memory and learning
ability. Malnutrition can lead to poor performance in school and we know
from experience that education is the route out of poverty.
“That which you give in usury for increase through the property of
(other) people, will have no increase with Allah: but that which you give for
charity, seeking the Countenance of Allah, (will increase); it is those who
will get a recompense multiplied.” (Qur'an, 30:39)
INVEST TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE CONDITION
1- From Abu Umamah -Radi
Allaahu anhu- who said: the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-
said: "Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah (charity)." [Collected in
Saheeh al-Jamia' No. 3358 & declared Hasan by Albaani]
2 - From Ubadah bin Saamitt who said I heard the
Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- saying: "There is no
person who is afflicted with a wound on his body, and he gives charity due to
that, then Allaah expiates from him the like of what he gave in charity.
[Collected by Ahmad & Albaani declared it to have an authentic Isnaad in
Saheehah No. 2273]
3 - Abu Tahir as-Silafee said in 'Mua'jam
as-Safr': I heard Abu Hasan Ali bin Abu Bakr Ahmad bin Ali the scribe of
al-Minzi in Damascus saying: I heard Abu Bakr al-Khabazi (d. 449A.H.) in
Nisaboor saying: I became sick with a very dangerous illness, and a righteous
neighbor of mine saw me and said: ýUtilize the saying of the Messenger of
Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-: "Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah
(charity)." It was summer time, and I bought many watermelons, and a group
of poor people and children got together and ate them, then they raised their
hands to Allaah ýAzza wa Jal- and they made Duaý for me to be cured. I swear by
Allaah I had not reach the morning except that I regained complete health from
Allaah -Tabaraka wa Taýala. [Seerah 'Alaam 18/44, Tareekh al-Islaam]
4 - Messenger -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-:
"The supplication of one of you for his brother in his absence is
answered."
5 - ad-Dooree narrated in 'Tareekh' and al-Bayhaqi
in 'Shu'ab al-Eemaan' from Ibraheem an-Nakhai who said: 'that the Companions
used to regard giving Sadaqah as a means of repelling oppression.'
6 - From Hudayfah -Radi Allaahu anhu- that the
Prophet -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam- said: 'A fitnah (trail) which a man
faces with regard to his family, his wealth, his own self, his son and his
neighbor is expiated by fasting, prayer, charity, enjoining good and forbidding
evil.' [Collected by Bukhari & Muslim]

defense.

Our meals bring smiles on the faces of the children, as

and given them strength to now run miles and miles to the location where the
bags of food is being distributed every month.
The bags in which the food is being packed-in, is “rat-proof” and will float
during floods. These measures ensure that the actual food content will not be
destroyed in any kind of non-hygienic conditions and will not be destroyed or
lost during flood as the bags will float. These bags of food will reach the
children in edible condition under any circumstances. This is our assurance to
you.
"Have you seen the one who denies
the Religion? Such is he who repulses the orphan, and who does not urge others
to feed the poor. Woe to worshippers, who are absent-minded to their prayer,
those who make a show (of piety), and refuse to render small acts of kindness
(towards others)." (Quran, 107 : 1-7)
INVEST IN LOVING MEMORY
Giving in charity
(Sadaqah) is a deed designed to eliminate suffering of others, and water as the
source of life is the cause of most suffering. It is for this reason, that we
find the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) encourages charity in the form of food. As
it serves the poor and needy with nutritious meals, you will be rewarded by
Allah in the way of warding-off prolong
or deathly illnesses, warding-off evil and afflictions, as well as increase
your profits in dunya and akhirah.
Charity for the deceased
Sa’d (r.a.) asked the Messenger of Allah
(s.a.w.), “O Allah’s Prophet! My mother died without leaving a will. Is there
any benefit for her if I gave charity on her behalf?” The Prophet (s.a.w.)
replied “Yes, I advise you to give charity through water” (reported by Al
Tabarani)
Ceaseless Charity
“When a man passes away, his good deeds will
also come to an end except for three; sadaqah jariyah (ceaseless charity), a knowledge
which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendent who prays for him (the deceased)”
VIEW YOUR INVESTMENT
The most beloved deed
before Allah (swt) is that which is continuous, even if it is little. The
constant giving of a little is said to please Allah more than the occasional
gift of much. The type of continuous giving in the form of charity is known as
“Sadaqah Jariyah”.
Giving of oneself –
of one’s wealth, one’s time, one’s energy, even one’s goodwill is an act of
charity and has an integral relationship with Allah (s.w.t).
We will put up a
website whereby you can view the location of where the nutrition-filled food
has been sent along with information on the community your nutrition-filled
food is serving. You are also welcome to visit the village, we are sure the
community will be pleased to meet with you.
Charity cures illness
“treat the sick with alms (reported by
ad-dailami from Ibn Umar)
Charity Increase
Wealth
Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said : He who
spend their wealth they will be given the blessing of it” “It is not charity that reduces the property
but added the Glory of God and He will raise the person in rank” (reported by
Muslim)
To address the above problems, 3 projects have been
established :
1. Development of water-wells in every
village for supply of clean drinking water
2. Supply of nutrition-filled meals
for healthy development
3. Provision of "Education
fund" to sustain education for orphans and poor children
Strengthen Your Sincerity
Sadaqah should be given solely out of love for Allah, out of the desire
to do good to His creation, as the Quran says about the righteous : “They give
food, out of love for Allah, to the poor, the orphans, and the slave, saying :
We feed you only for Allah’s pleasure – we desire from you neither reward nor
thanks” (Quran 76:8-9)
