SOCIO-ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION

INTRODUCTION

Foundation for Global Advancement develops socio-economic transformation plans aimed at poverty reduction in order to increase GNH (Gross National Happiness) of each country assisted. Every development project focuses on education, development of human capital and healthcare, as education is the foundation for socio-economic transformation and the principal route out of poverty, while good health promotes education.

The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, "Every Muslim has to give in charity." The people asked, "If someone has nothing to give, what will he do?" He said, "He should work with his hands and benefit himself and also give in charity (from what he earns)." The people further asked, "If he cannot do even that?" He replied, "Then he should help the needy who appeal for help."  (Bukhari Vol. 2, Hadith 524)

Nu’man b. Bashir reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever. (Sahih Muslim: 6258)

Narrated Hakim bin Hizam that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The upper hand is better than the lower hand (i.e. he who gives in charity is better than him who takes it). One should start giving first to his dependents. And the best object of charity is that which is given by a wealthy person (from the money which is left after his expenses).” [Bukhari].
